one thing that i've noticed recently is that very little of the dubstep being released has a dub sound. which makes me wonder do people listening to dubstep like dub and reggae?

i personally am a massive fan and am constantly on the look out for dub influenced stuff.

"I love dub music!"

Dub is awesome. :D Irritates me when people say dub for dubstep, some guy the other day was like you into dub and I said "yeah, King tubby's awesome" and he goes "who? never heard of him, think your thinking of the wrong thing mate I mean like Caspa".

exactly, for me there should be loads more dub stuff in dubstep. it should be seen as the root. people should spend time getting to know it. when you hear tracks like prophecy by RSD you can see the scope for dub and dubstep. people like dub boy have a good mix of dubstep and dub and thats the sound i'm going for.

on the subject of king tubby i have to admit that i called my cat king tubby. not many get it but i think its a fucking brilliant name!

i appreciate that for most people it isnt. i just love dub and reggae and m naturally drawn to that sound. but i fully understand that its only one of many roots to dubstep.

you can't really get much better if you want dubstep in a dub style :)

you'd have to be quite wrong not to like dub, its like jazz - music you can't really find fault with, its not necessarily rowdy but still lively, chilled but will make you dance etc.etc.etc.etc.

one of my favourite purchases was soul jazz's dub echos, some great dub and dub-originated tunes on that

yeah i love good dub music, the older dubstep tunes had that massive warm dub sound a lot more, i must say though i normally prefer the garage side of it all really, good garage i mean.
