Wobblez!

So today I was listening to a load of old skool dubstep from the likes of Kode 9, Distance, and Burial (I'm sure someone will tell me that that isn't old skool, but whatever) and I was just wondering who first introduced the 'wobble' bass effect into dubstep? Or for that matter, the brutal electro patch... not that I'm having a go, I'm just curious!

not to be a nob but this is probably the wrong forum to ask
early distance had slow wobbly stuff
caspa, skream & hatcha were some of the first pronounced wobble bass stuff that I heard back in '04 - '05

I'd take a guess that kromestar 'kalawanji' was a pretty early one as far as dubstep goes.

Of course Mr. Oizo was cranking the wobbles back in 99 though.

Nowadays dubstep seems to be defined by a wobbly bassline, but I was interested how it came about, Burial and Rusko seem like worlds apart.
It probably is the wrong forum to ask in, but it's the forum that I will get the most knowledgeable answers from

You are listening to the wrong kind, if you can state that.
