I really haven't listened to him in a long time because I played out all of his early albums, however, I just recently played his Savath and Savalas project : the rolls and waves ep, and Folksongs for trains and trees and honey, and remembered how much I love this guys music, whatever his project. I guess if I'm writing this I should probably check out his new album...

Savath and Savalas - Paths in Soft Focus off the rolls and waves EP... Perfection. Same goes for Pagina Dos off surounded by silence, most of that album actually is fucking dope, had many a rinse.

Was that at the cooler? Preverted Undertone got a nice response!

One Word Extinguisher is easily my favourite electronic hip hop album - hands down!

everything he produces is gold. he's part of another collective called Risil that are pretty fresh. not as emergent as prefuse, but same ball park. I'd find it pretty difficult to choose an album out of surrounded by silence and one word extinguisher. they're both pretty vital.

Great musician, and as someone over here pointed out, paved the way for all the great experimental hip-hop we hear today. Having said that though, some of those new guys are certainly surpassing him these days, in my opinion. His new stuff is still pretty damn good though.

the one word outtakes was something i played out and is still one of my favorite releases of his...

seeing him live though was a different experience...this was in LA maybe about a year or two ago

had equipment all around him and he used a guitar and made the most noise i have ever heard him do too. it was different and dope at the same time. had a great analog/raw feel to his set.
