Apologies if there is already a thread on this, but I couldn't see it...

Gonna be heading down from Manc for Notting Hill Carnival. Every time I've been people always say 'oh, did you see the such and such party, it was the best thing this year'. I always end up missing some decent shit, so... who knows whats going down this year? Where the party at?

Channel 1 (Roots and dub) as always (corner of westbourne pk rd and leamington villas) . Sir Loyd sound also on leamington villas at the other end (dnb, dubstep, house soca and everything else) has been good for the last few years. Also gaz rockin blues just round the corner on talbot rd is usually good for a bit of ska and ting.

CMC on all saints rd for a bit of ram up dnb (too busy for me !) .

Then down the other end you've got sancho panza and norman jay's bus if you like that kind of vibe.

I'll be holding down a corner at Channel 1 personally. Look out for me, I'm the one with the dreads ! lol.

ave a goodun

Plastic bag with 6 red stripe in, pocket with q in, stagger around smiling in the sun looking for your mates. Its impossible not to have a good time at carnival!

Its all about Channel One, Aba Shanti-I and Rampage... and lots and lots of jerk chicken

Looking forward to it as usual! We will probably end up doing the same as most years:

Channel One: Old school Dub music
Aba Shanti-I: Faster more aggressive (in a good way) dub. Some tracks sound very close to certain styles of dubstep.
Good Times: Girls, good vibes, massive party

Avoid CMC! The DNB and crowd get worse every single year. Was much better when the Hardware lot were associated with the soundsystem.

its on both sunday and monday, generally sunday is the better day for music and monday for processions but all round party vibe to be had on both days!

Check out the Red Bull Music stage as well, normally got some well known live acts.

Monday this year gonna be Diplo and Switch as Major Lazer.

Here's a map i've made for mates coming down who havent been before, its not got all the soundsystems on but the ones i'll be checking.

There and there.
We're doing a couple of floats, most likely the 1Xtra and MTV Base ones again so if you see them jump around, have a drink and wave.
Faye, that is a definitive list. Like it! Lets link, I'll give Frank a ring.
