 I did this all the time when I first started.

One time I couldnt understand why none of the 170bpm amen loops were fitting onto the grid (making DnB back then). I spent ages time stretching them and pissing about so they fit. I sounded like a right bag of shit by the time I had finished.

And then I noticed I had the tempo set to 120bpm the whole time

Twat.

Yeah... I have the tempo set to 140, 3 busses with compression set up, and a dub delay + reverb in the sends. It's called a "template" in Ableton Live.

Take that FL fanboy 8) ;)

Oh and +1 on the forgetting to change the tempo... When I didn't have the template set up yet. I had a couple of tunes going @ 120 ... figuring it out 2hrs later

You can do the same thing in Cubase too.

I have so many drum breaks at 120bpm that I haven't found a proper home for because of this...

You can do all that as a template in FL as well, but, er, better.....yeah.

 Used to do this too. I did the following to stop me from doing it again and again:

SET THE TEMPLATE BPM TO 0!!

That way you can't make music or reallyyyyyy slooooooooooooooow and you HAVE to change it.

I've done this once, but I was using FL to make the drum patterns. So when I brought it into Ableton it immediately sounded off.

Never been halfway through a track though LOL

I barely work at 140, first thing I do is drop the tempo to 133 or 135.

Changing the tempo would always screw everything up at that point so .. :( lol. I started doing the same with Sonar aswell when i started using that. But yeah templates always help and save shitloads of time setting things up, on Reason anyway lol.
120 bpm is evil is it?
