				ill just quote my brother
"Long story short = police received a call that a woman named Amanda was OD'ing on the 2nd floor apartment of 63 XXXXX st. What they failed to realize was that there is a front and rear building, completely separate addresses. They busted down our door thinking it was hers. To top it all of, she wasn't even OD'ing. She was awake and fine when the cops showed up and she booked it because she thought they were coming to arrest/evict her (hasn't paid her rent in 5 months). So we got back from going out to breakfast to find our place a mess, but luckily our cats didn't get out of the apartment"
nothing like od'ing in the morning...
but....how would they know she was od'ing...and if she wasn't, why would she call?
dumb ass cops. get a fucking clue

technically.. what would happen if they found drugs or paraphenalia in the apartment? would they be able to arrest the person renting the apartment or would they have to issue a house search warrant and go in a second time to find evidence?

in the US you could get those charges dropped and the evidence dismissed. there cannot be a second charge for the same crime as I recall...but my brother doesn't have any shit laying around there...its at the band space haha
but i think they realized upon entry that the place was far too nice to be a junky's place haha
pretty sure they are replacing the door.
still fucked though.

nah you could easily prove that the police made an unlawful entry therefore anything they find is meaningless in court

Wow, that sounds incredible, but just. Living in a country where policemen take random reggae festival visitors in for drug tests without any proof of drug use, this is completely unheard of.
