For university I have to write an essay in relation to a paper written about various things to do with music (I won't go into detail here it isn't necessary). Basically I'm planning on including some of the positive/negative aspects of dubstep, with a focus on the heavy/wobble side of things and how ketamine and other general behaviour in relation to the scene has had an effect whether it be good or bad. Any suggestions or links to things I could include?

Why? Do people not want to acknowledge the fact that in dubstep, like every genre, there are both positive and negative occurrences? I'm just looking for any input so I can construct a balanced discussion on the scene, I don't see the problem in that.

Yes thank you, you definitely raise a valid point there and I'll include it. I must say it is interesting that Ketamine seems to be the drug of choice for many and one that is associated with dubstep - I wonder what the origins of this were and how the connection was gained.

it gets gheyer as more people consume it and follow the worst trends..much like what happened to d&b....

also an elite has been established with a network of mates controlling the scene in it's entirety...if you weren't in you won't get in basically...this happened with d&b as well...

Cant agree with either of these points mate, i reckon the genre is progressing all the time, and just because some of the worst trends, poor production, same old formulas etc, are getting rinsed by some people, it just means that producers who truly love the music are pushed to make music thats coming from a different angle. Look at everything thats happening with the autonomic stuff, and then people like untold, brackles etc, blurring the lines between funky and dubstep.
And, who do you mean by this network of mates?
