A Question About Loefah..

I've not really heard or read much on Loefah's production techniques ect and as he's one of my favourite artists I'd love to know what software and hardware he's using ect..
So does anyone have links with interviews where he's revealing some of his production methods or even know them selfs?
Thanks in advance ;)

I heard skream talking about loefah being a bit of a production guru, he didnt give any details but he obviously uses some pretty hardcore processes. I'd try and recall it but I'd just get it horribly wrong. I dont think its as simple as getting his hardware/software, I think he just really knows his stuff, and could probably make fat tunes on just about anything.

IMHO obviously :)

I was wondering the same thing a few weeks ago but didin`t got the time to do searching, he is one of my favorite producers also, and the Loefah with Skream tunes are some pieces of superior production in my opinion

One quote I like from Loefah "I'm not interested in Native Instruments Battery"

There's an old article done by blackdown, where loefah talks little bit about production, and what he used at that time (Logic)

Good read.

L: But yeah we were writing beats, I was working with Mala at this debt collecting company. Mala was starting to really take the music production seriously. He went to college to learn about it in the evenings. He’s proper dedicated, Mala. He used to come back and chat to me, he’d have a new beat he’d done on Reason, cos that was what we were using then. To tell the truth he was writing a lot of house then, but dark house.
I wonder what Mala uses now

L: I started writing beats but just sitting on them. I finished ‘Indian’ in January and gave it to Hatcha in August. Mala used to cuss me hard you know? ‘What are you doing with them? You’ve made them to sit on your hard drive? Go down to Big Apple and pass them to Hatcha.’ And I was like ‘well I don’t know Hatcha, what if he sits there and goes ‘fuck off?’ And Mala said: ‘and what if he does?’ So I went down there and played it to him and I thought they were taking the piss when they liked it. Skream was in there and Chef was in there. I was like ‘rah’ and got a bit shaky over it, and went upstairs to listen to some records and thought ‘fucking hell, what was that all about?’ Next thing I went down to Forward>> and he played ‘Indian’ and it was like ‘rah.’ That was how we got there really.

I like this

I think most of DMZs early tunes were made using Reason3. They used quite a few of the drums and noises that come with it in the library's. I think.

He quite plainly lists his secret over and over...

His is secret is that he is always striving for that perfect mixdown. No matter how well he is mixing today, he aims to mix better tomorrow. More than money or recognition, his primary drive is to get that perfect mix.

Those who strive to constantly get better and better, do get better and better. Those who relax stagnate.

Yeah I was more referring to the actual techniques he is using, production as well, not just mixdown and mastering.
