Ive very recently fallen in love with the dubstep sound since i saw Jazzsteppa at Big Chill festie a few weeks ago

, ive been a hip hop DJ for some years, so can you suggest the best dubstep artists i should check out? I really like the Bay Area dubstep compilations and i thought jazzsteppa was incredible.
Any advice would be much appreciated

In all fairness Bandshell is 100% right suggesting DMZ Start your new found love affair from the roots and work your way to present day, even listen to some of the old skool garage stuff like zinc to give you a feel of the evolution of the sound.

DMZ, Horsepower and El-B.
Work from there.

Hatcha's dubstep allstars think it might have even been volume one, that is pretty much an education in dub

thanks for these suggestions!
i am unable to find anything by DMZ to check out, i tried youtube, addictech and d&b arena downloads, so if someone can suggest me some links to try
EDIT: ah i just found 'anti war dub' on youtube that's very cool
im much more oriented towards the dub aspect than the garage aspect, ive always liked dub but was never a big fan of garage

BASS CLEF
brings the nasty.
check out "Clapton Deep" and "cannot be straightened"

The following statement may be perceived as a cliche but for me dubstep is at it's best as a simple beat with deep layered sub bass.

You'll probably like Kromestar:

2 amazing cd's to buy if you can find um are Grime 1 and grime 2
early work from people like: Plasticman, Slaughter mob, Kode9, Loefah and Digital Mystikz you could probrably pick up a copy fairly cheap in the bassbins of your local record store.
