I picked up the new Justin Timberlake album a while back. I figured someone else out here has either:
a) heard it
or
b) has it and given it a solid listen.
Personally, i love it.
At first glance, you're skeptical because.....well.......let's face it, it's justin timberlake.
- Sure....he was part of a boy band -- you want to hate on him.
- He sealed the deal with Britney before KFed -- you want to hate on him.
- We all remember the "wardrobe malfunction" at the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. Janet Jackson was strongly criticized...No one said a word about JT -- you want to hate on him.
- You probably heard his first album....it was top shelf. So good that -- yes -- you want to hate on him.
- He can actually sing/dance. So -- you want to hate on him.
I think we all can stop hating.
if you've heard the album...or a couple of tunes, tell us what you think.

I have both the singles off the album.
Sexy Back i am not feeling so much (however it mixes well with greenvelvet's tunes for what its worth)
but I like "My Love" quite a bit.
I havent heard the whole album yet though.
It seems from the singles that it might be pretty good over all.
So my mind is open I may just have to check it out.

I havent heard it all, either, but I've liked what I heard. You are right about him being so much more amazing than we all want to believe he is.

It isn't a case of him being amazing, it's a case of Timbaland the Neptunes etc. being amazing.
The bloke's a tnuc. He keeps trying to stress in all his interviews that he's smoked weed. Let me tell you- I was there and he took one toke and puked all over Cameron Diaz's tnuc. Then he got his cock out and tried to get a stiffy but couldn't, so I slammed it in the george foreman and told him and pharell to bounce.
Wasteman.

that synth sounds in "my love" are great.

justin timberlake is in the post-human realm of branded people now, so the pinch of salt is deya
but i like the album a lot. sexyback is a fucking sick tune straight up. incidently on 45 its about a thousand times better

Liked the previous album better.
I think thisone get's too monotonous imo.
Timbaland just isn't an album producer imho, but he's one of the best single producers around.
The first one also got that when you got to the last few tunes.

one of my top three tunes of the year no question. that and ruff sqwad's 'died in your arms' vocal will keep me happy forever...
i only like sexyback when alex plays it at 45, bit drab otherwise imo.
any other tracks on the album worth listening to?

you know cassie is probably the third tune i hadn't quite thought of

died in yr arms, yes. cassie, hell yes but as much as i like my love i just can't help hearing it as a rehashed junior boys track but with dented gloss and far less spine tingling shimmer.
