ripping dvd audio

how i do it is....
i have the dvd player hooked through the vcr and a rca cable out of the vcr into my audio input on my powerbook while watching the dvd you can record. I am using Cubase, not sure of doing it any other way on any other programs but im sure some people here now but if thats any help, I find it to work great

my youth,
quicktime pro should be able to do this. theres a free app(i think) for mac osx that does this as well, might be called reel player or something. i dont know of any other apps asides from quicktime for pc with the same capabilities. on the same note, i wanted to know what some of you folks are using to edit, effect and sync samples from films etc.

you could just play it on a dvd drive on your comp and then record the audio with soundforge

you start it up, then tell it which application's audio you want it to record and it'll save it in a format of your choice.
