where do you see the music we all love so much going? What direction will it take next? Who do you think is really pushing the scene forward at the mo?
Let's not turn this into a waste thread please :)

As always:

It will be adopted by the Dutch, who will distort it, make it
four-to-the-floor and exploit it beyond believe. Then, fifteen
years later, we'll introduce a dubstep revival when the kids
of 'back then' are in their late twenties, have cash to spend
and will WANT to spend it on nostalgic raves.

By then, it will be called 'polderdub' and is the next big
thing in post-communist Russia. Oh, and then I wake up.

I have no idea where it'll go but let's hope it's good.

sad to say that it will be increasingly controlled and targeted at the relevent people that will respond to their buttons being pushed...

i predict more jump up prolly
ultimately it will split in different subgenres, but eventually it'll still be the best music ever made

I predict that the slew of jump-up and ravey stuff will go the way of the halfstep stuff that happened in 08, when it was "killing the scene."

All of the people that I listen to and love today were just doing their thing in the background, and hopefully the same thing will happen today!

um...YES! I saw a segment on Dateline the other day where this paralyzed guy was typing with his mind. Basically there is a grid of letters & symbols that randomly flash. Each time you see the letter you are thinking flash you think that it is correct. In a very short amount of time it then knows the word you are thinking. The news person did it perfect the first time & it learns your thoughts over time so it becoomes easier to use.

I want this applied to music. The sounds i dream of are beyond genre description. the music of the future will be the music of our dreams, and of outer space & of beings not yet imagined. i cannot fucking wait!

Human hearing is too slow
and can't differentiate a lot of simultaneous sounds
so
in the future, in order to appreciate micromusic,
the ear-brain circuit will become obselete
as far more sensitive vibration detection is bioengineered
into neural pathways
leading to nanomusic & beyond.
Certified mayan prediction

It probably won't happen for at least 20 years. Right now they can barely manage mouse control with ridiculously low response times.

Eventually I predict that a thread like this will be made again in exactly 14 days and 2 seconds.

Loefah will finally perfect his bass sound and the Earth will be knocked off its orbit forever.

Someone will discover the island that Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Micheal Jackson, Ian Curtis, Buddy Holly, Sid Vicious, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and co are hiding out and uncover the greatest album ever made.
