Dabbled into it but settled for Reaktor, I quite liked it but I found it stupidly buggy.

i used it as well for a minute but max/msp and reaktor do everything i want synthedit to do plus more...
it was fun and mildly educational when I played with it.

I do sometimes, Reaktor is great too, both are better than synthmaker by far IMO.

I quite like it. It's very good for knocking up basic synths with particular combinations of features. It's limited to the existing modules (unless you start making your own, which is serious business) so you're not going to set the world on fire with the greatest filter ever (although if you know how to code the greatest filter ever but can't be arsed with GUI programming, writing it as a SynthEdit module and using SE to do the GUI would be worthwhile, I guess) but there's some decent sounding stuff out there to use with it.
Haven't hit any noticeable bugs myself, although I might just have the 'right' setup.
I thought SynthMaker looked decent, obviously a different beast but the idea of code modules seems nice.

Synthedit's also quite good for delay based and glitch FX. It's pretty easy to knock up something a bit unusual...
