Massive/Fruityloops changing dynamics on its own...

For some reason Fruityloops is changing the dynamics of my bassline and it differs each time as if it's going through some kind of filter, although the only things assigned to its channel are compression and panametric EQ. On another song I made it was doing the same thing except changing the tone of a synth. Can anyone think why it would be doing this?
Thanks

check the release times?

you could be doubling up your sounds

especially if you are working solely in the pattern view.

loops and synths not triggered with envelopes will continuously play and if its the 3xosc it will play forever in the pattern mode without an envelope

Yeah checked all that, nothing is doubled and I don't think it would be the release time as when a note is played it stays the same loudness throughout...then when the next note of the bassline is played it could be a different loudness to the time it was played before. And yeah I am using massive :)

I don't use Massive, so I might not be able to help much, but:

1. Check if anything is assigned to velocity (in both FL or Massive).

2. Check to make sure there aren't any LFO's accidentally running.

3. Check to make sure the routing for an LFO you wanted to route to an oscillator isn't affecting the Master as well.

4. Save the preset, open it up in another DAW (you can download Reaper for free, if you don't have another), and see if it's something with FL.

5. Make sure Massive is updated to the newest version. Or, from what I've heard about the newest version, maybe try an older one, as it's apparently less buggy!

6. Make sure there aren't any extra automation tracks left there by accident, accidentally moved from another track to the Massive one, or accidentally recorded while using a MIDI controller (this happens to me more than I'd like to admit!).

Again, I don't use Massive or FL, so I might be useless...but I've had similar problems before. So I hope this helps in some way.

Nah man no frequency shifter :)

Just about to go to bed but will look through these tommorow, it's bound to be one of them! cheers for the help :D

I had the same with a patch I created from scratch... for some reason it got distorted after some time... recreated the patch, problem solved... pretty strange though

are there any detuned oscillators in your bass patch? if so thats probably whats doing it, detuning creates a phenomenon known as beating where the waves slip in and out of phase with eachother. when they are completely in phase they will be at their loudest. on a low bass patch the beating will happen slowly, so will have a noticeable effect on the volume. try sticking a compressor on it if thats the case.
