Right. I hate myspace, can't figure it out at all.

If I have a normal account, can it be converted into a musician's account, or do I have to sign up all over again?

no, you can't transfer normal myspace>>band myspace account anymore. the reason for this is that you must accept their terms on posting audio content. you need to make a band account with a completely new email.

i recently had a personal myspace transferred to a music one - i lost all my data but got to keep the url..

??. i tried to change mine and they said no. i stand corrected then!

i jus signed up again.
if you want to use the same url i did this:

Sign up for a band account with anova email addy

then add all the friends from the standard one to ur new music one

then when uve done that cancel the standard one

once the standard one is cancelled u can then make the url to the new band one the same as the standard one you cancelled

You mean re-add them or can you transfer them over?

re-add them
cos u will have 2 accounts at that stage, so jus have 2 windows open and go thru the standard accounts friends an type the url into the window you are signed in as your new music account
make sense?
when they are added to the new account, then u can delete the old account and choose the appropriate url for the music one
