Dubstep Production Questions.

Hiya I'm Kenny from London, nice to meet you all..

Started university last year and made that dramatic encounter in a grimy underground club with dubstep (like many other people?) and absolutely entranced- So much so that now I want to write dubstep and drum and bass.

I've been playing music for most of my life and I have a very deep understanding of music itself- but not the PRODUCTION of dubstep- especially the wobbbbbbllling bass line, I think it is VERY phat and moving...

I would absolutely LOVE IT if some one could advice me as to what program I should get, or what implement I should prepare or anything I should know if I am to start playing dubstep- I have a Keyboard with midi function, computer to keyboard connector (midi connector?), keyboard amp and Logic pro 8. Fullstop.

Sorry for such an ignorant post if it's been up before, I've tried to look for it but I'm finding it hard to look in the right place atm.

I would ultimately like to explore the lines of dubstep and jazz crossed.. Cheers! x

K-dogg.

There's plenty of literature on how to get that hard bass wobble and honestly, it's not that hard. I recommend Albino 3 for dubstep. It's very powerful, easy to use (if you know how synths work), and comes loaded with phenomenal presets. The spectral waveforms make it a prime choice for dubstep bass
