Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds; a dubstep refit.

NEW STUFF

May be worth mentioning that i have had two new mixes come out in the past couple of months. Nothing like the war of the worlds mix, but entertaining nevertheless.

I did a mix for radical radio that undertakes a journey through different flavors of dubstep and other bass-related musics, all glued together with bridges composted of added samples and edited tracks.

The second one is a dutch talent showcase i did for trapewaves.com's global mix series. It is 40 minutes purely composed of tracks by dutch producers, most of them unknown and unsigned.

Image

A mix that uses Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds narration by Richard Burton, Phil Lynott and David Essex.
It follows the story arch and gives Jeff Wayne's classic a fresh look.

Can be listen to at soundcloud:

Many thanks to LeBelgeElectrod, Actraiser, Sykotic, Bullet Bill, Netrik, Disonata and the Suspicious Stench album for your nice dubs!

I hope you guys enjoy listening to it as much as i enjoyed making it.

Consider this a tribute... I was introduced to that record as a little boy by my father, been a huge fan ever since. Got the collectors edition pack, the original on record... Everything. As i said it's been a blast making this, i had been thinking about it for ages, and it took me quite some time to get a tracklist together that was to my satisfaction.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words :)

Looks big, someone's already done this with the Orson Welles version though.

Theres a little bit of orson welles in there as well... Those samples just arn't as appealing, and not of very good quality. The play itself is a masterpiece... The recordings i found are just generally rubbish.

Hey .. thanks for using my track right at the start.. Ive re-edited 'Treasures of the Deep' to make it better so if you want I can send you a 320.

Great Mix.. listened to it while playing chess with my girlfriend.. enjoyed it a lot.. great use of the vocals.. so many good sample opportunities for tracks in the play. Some of the tracks were a little 'wobbly' for my liking but on the whole it was very good.. the last track (rdubz - Danger) is amazing and Im going to go buy that now.

That'd be very nice, i'm gathering all the feedback that i'm getting on this and in due time i'll make a remaster, theres already some drops i want to shop and just details i need to change and make better, toy with frequenties and panning, the whole shebang.

So if anyone's got some cits, even the slightest ones, either leave em in the soundcloud player or list em here.
