im trying to get that dubby techno type sound, a good example of this would be martyn's broken. how its slowly sweeping from a trebly hi end, to deep bassy lowpass filter. i suppose i could stop being lazy and automate a filter, plus that would give me control of when i wanted it to sound deep or high. all the logic filters kinda scare me though, im sure more experimenting would fix that, maybe the fuzz wah would be a good place to start, or plug in and automate a high cut and low cut.. any suggestions? tips about the auto filter and having more control over it? thanks!

Don't get me wrong, I love the Auto filter, the resonance is really beautiful to me and it's easy to modulate - But have you tried the Delay Designer? If you're doing anything that's dub + techno it should be your holy grail. It's basically a delay with a sequencer that you can utilize to sequence filter, resonance, pitch etc on each delay bounce!

But finishing off a element by using an Auto Filter last in the chain, just press A, choose Autofilter in the automation box, choose Cutoff, draw it in, repeat with Resonance and there you go! You can also do that with the High Cut for a lively, dubby feel, but really you want to hop on the Delay Designer train right NOW.
