3 Deck Dubstep / Grime / Minimal Mix

Mainly Dubstep, but a few other bits and pieces to keep things interesting. I have to admit to a few shady mixes in here, but I haven't quite got the 3 deck technique down. I guess there comes a point in every DJs life where they have to admit they aren't Youngsta, and accept that perfectionism really just means never releasing a mix.

Tried to avoid the obvious bangers, leave that to the DJs who have 'em while they're fresh. Didn't fully succeed, but the really obvious stuff like Kalawanji and Lightning have still got some suprises. Hopefully.

Tracklist
Portishead - Roads [Go Beat]
Rhythm & Sound - Best Friend [Basic Channel]

Out to Pangaea on the sole CD-R tune, definately going to be more on my next mix. Finally getting the hang of the CD Decks (ish).

Let me know what you think.

Too big for YSI, sorry. If anyone has issues with megaupload let me know and I'll put it up somewhere else.

Edit: You can get it here as well: http://www.sendspace.com/file/yqs8n2

Yes mate this is wicked. I've never heard dubstep mixed with techno or crunk before, it's good to see a mix of different styles of music, not just dubstep or dubstep and grime :)

Glad to see people are liking it!
Checked out the RaveCave thing, looks like they're hosting mixes on speedyshare which has a 128Mb limit. I really should have encoded it to a lower quality MP3, would have made life easier. I'll find somewhere else.

Didn't know about the Rej on Defective thing, so looked it up on discogs. The art is heavy, I guess that's what you get with a label that big.

Paolo: if you're feeling the dubstep / crunk mix up you should check out one of Alex BkBk's mixes. All about the bb45z. I you want some techno / dubstep stuff I've no idea. Anyone know some other mixes like that?

Sounds original DLing now...

Before I do though, what is your DJ name? I have to label these things so they don't get lost amongst the terrabyte!

:)

Also I'd be interested to read your reply!

Peace.

Tracklisting looks wicked 8) Large up on the Antistatic inclusion!

I haven't been able to download yet due to a shite internet connection at home (4kbps/disconnection every half hour - waste). I'll take advantage of hyper-quick uni network speeds tommorrow, innit.

Alright people.
New link for those who can't use megaupload. Apparently they have some wierd country limit as well as just randomly not working at all.
I think spread it are actually pretty waste, but I couldn't think of anywhere else that allows big files. Didn't know about sendspace, suppose I could put it there as well. Could someone let me know how quick spread it is? Might be something stupidly slow...

Well thanks for that mizz. Always good to get some constructive critism.
In one last attempt to keep everyone happy, I offer you:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/yt4sdl

Seems like sendspace is the one to use if it's too big for YSI. Well, lots of other people seem to be using it anyway. Hope that sorts the last of the problems.

Also, in responce to my own question about other dubstep / techno mixes (Do I have to do everything round here?), check out the Alex Smoke mix Sci Fi Hi Fi Vol. 3 which has some Burial and Basic Channel in it. Or one of Ricardo Villalobos' recent mixes which have Left Leg Out and Blood on my Hands. Both of them are mainly Techno with slowed down dubstep rather than how I've done it, but it's the closest I could find.

I can host it on my webspace if you want? Unlimited bandwidth and such.
