...without tracks like this.

I am a classical trained piano. For 8 years I was principal trumpet player for the scholastic symphany. I have been producing for 12 years. Dubstep needs me.

Ok then.

Weak kick drum a generic clap with no life to it. Nice vocal but are there artifacts from the track it was lifted from hanging on under it? There are some horrible frequencies in the track around the 3 minute mark very tiring in the ears and would be pretty uncomfortable at volume... Overall sound quality is quite poor, this does not sound as if you "have been producing for 12 years". Some ideas there but back to to the drawing board with arrangement and sound choice, it does not sound if there is too much sound design going on in there to my ears.

"Weak kick drum a generic clap with no life to it. "

Subjective judgement.

"Nice vocal but are there artifacts from the track it was lifted from hanging on under it?"

As you hear, eq'ed is the Lady Gaga drums playing throughout the whole track.

"There are some horrible frequencies in the track around the 3 minute mark very tiring in the ears and would be pretty uncomfortable at volume..."

This is not my final draft....but yeah, I agree even though the frequencies don't change at that point. Discordant may be the word you are looking for. Wholly intentional.

"Overall sound quality is quite poor, this does not sound as if you "have been producing for 12 years"."

Sound quality and musicianship are two different things. I didn't use a reference track to mix down. I just wanted to lay something down. How does the musicianship sound like I haven't been producing for 12 years again?

"Some ideas there but back to to the drawing board with arrangement and sound choice, it does not sound if there is too much sound design going on in there to my ears."

I using mostly samples. I am not trying to take away from the rawness. The lack of sound design is intentional. I am trying to have hip-hop elements.

The Kick is very weak, thats not subjective.

Clap is way too dry and just sounds really cheap. Same with the vocals, they arn't sitting in the mix properly becuase they have no effects on them.

As for musicality its not too bad, except that electronic grating synth is pretty harsh and out of tune. With some better mixing and just a generally higher level of production you could achieve some quite nice chilled out stuff with this vibe.

I would definately stop talking like you're amazing though, you are clearly new at production and it doesn't go down well to act like a cock.

I am bored so I will pander to your shite...

"Subjective judgement."

No. I'd have to say fact.

"eq'ed is the Lady Gaga drums playing throughout the whole track"

You just used a bad quality acapella.

"This is not my final draft....but yeah, I agree even though the frequencies don't change at that point. Discordant may be the word you are looking for. Wholly intentional."

Discordant was most certainly not the word I was looking for, sounds can be discordant without being horrible and painful to the ears.

"Sound quality and musicianship are two different things. I didn't use a reference track to mix down. I just wanted to lay something down. How does the musicianship sound like I haven't been producing for 12 years again?"

I didn't mention anything about your "musicianship". This track does not sound like you have been producing for 12 years like your say. It just doesn't. You are the one who originally titled the thread "Am I Out of Place By Saying this Song is the GREATEST..." But you changed it to get a reaction on the board. This weak way of drawing attention to yourself is getting very old now. What name are you going to use next on DSF?

how r u gonna ask for critique and dismiss it when someone gives u an honest description of what they hear?

everything drokkr said was right on! i wish i had someone helping me out like that when i was starting...
the kick is weak, and the snare needs more layers and reverb. bring some hi hats in there too, get more of a rhythm going. the vocal gets a bit repetitive, but maybe that's just me.

if some things in the track don't sound good, it doesn't matter if they're intentional or not. if they don't sound good, they don't sound good. if i have a quiet track and then i yell for a whole minute out of nowhere... that's obviously intentional but who the hell would listen to that?

there's a lot of sound designing going on in hip hop as well. u can have things raw, but that doesn't mean simply using a preset. there are still a lot of things that need to be added to make it fit in the song, which is part of the sound design drokkr mentioned.

i hope this helps :)
cheers!

So skream is very wack to you, your better than benga, youve produced the greatest track ever, dubstep sucks, your a classicaly trained piano and i have a 10 foot penis.

I would be nice about how i give feedback but your a cock and your track is very poorly produced.

Back to youtube i think!

NOOOO....i am not new to production. I've been producing for 12 years. The rawness is wholly intentional. Dubstep sucks simply because too many cat are in the i-think-people-will-like-this mind set. I put what I like. If I don't like the music, I don't produce it.

Stop with being condescending.

cool, but if something was added intentionally, that really matters a lot. Music is about the musician. Nothing else. Also, I am not using presets I am using samples. No synths or vst. IT is meant to sound raw. Contrary, I know what I am doing. Been doing it for to long.

p.s. I didn't dismiss what he said. I just told him my intention. IF anything, by you implying I should listen to him and completely reconstruct my vision shows a lack of musical integrity on your part. I might put reverb on the clap but other than that, I am completely content with the musicianship of the track.

Yes the mix needs work.
