Like UKG, dubstep is a genre propelled by singles. I would say that full length albums are a rather new development (albeit welcome)---
--a better feel for the larger sound of dubstep is more likely to be found in mixes, naw mean?

Check barefiles.com when its up, any of the Dubstep Allstar mixes, or the plethora of mixes that people have up on this site.

If you bent on getting albums, a sampling of the biggest releases of 06:
Burial - Burial found here
Skream - Skream on CD and LP listen here
Warrior Dubs - Various (a selection of a few bIg tunes as featured on Mary Ann Hobbs' Radio One show "breezeblock") listen here

ENJOY THE TRIP

Try these on for size:

Benga - Invasion EP (Big Apple 12"x2)
ANYTHING on the label called Tempa
Gravious - Wormsign / Monolith (Scuba 12")
Luke Envoy - Gamma / Honor Kill (Hotflush 12")
Pinch - Punisher (Planet Mu)
Pinch - War Dub (Tectonic)
Loefah - Ruffage (DMZ)
Coki - Tortured (Tempa 24?)
Fat Freddy's Drop - Cay's Crays (Digital Mystikz Version)
Skream - Stagger

They arent albums so much as they are tunes/12" releases. Like my man said, albums arent really it. Theres WAYYYYY too many good singles flating around. If MP3's are your thing, I'm sure some of these fine members can point you in the right direction.

Another pretty good album is the Bass Cleff album "A Smile Is A Curve That Straightens Most Things". Also, "Benga - Newstep" aint so bad there either.

Should be a good bit to put you on! Welcome to a beautiful thing!

as introduction, CDs i would recommend most highly...

Roots of Dubstep
Dubstep Allstars I
Dubstep Allstars II
Dubstep Allstars III
Tectonic Plates

that'll give a good idea of most of the central players, and a bit of chronological perspective
