because of the overflow of "recommend me" threads like this.

i want a new production pc. my current computer is allright, but
im using alot of heavy plugins in my newer productions and my
1,83 ghz processor, cant handle it anymore.

i currently produce at a f*cking laptop and therefor i cant upgrade
any components.

is there any decent ready-to-use computers out there for music
production? or would you recommend me to build it myself, and
how much could i save (or spend at better parts) by building it
myself?

my budget is max 900£ / 1430$

I dont want a mac.

Build it yourelf. For half your budget, you could make yourself a beastly rig if you know where to look.

I used to build my own PC's until I tried to throw together a dual core system early this year

I ended up with some bad ram that killed multiple motherboards etc....

after weeks of going to the PC parts store and ordering shit from ebay, I finally broke down and had a professional test all the parts I had purchased

this guy threw together a system for me on the cheap and made me wish I had just called him right off the bat.

what I am getting at is this...

Don't try to piece together a computer unless you know exactly what you are doing

hire a professional or buy a system build from a name brand manufacturer

get usb devices if you are uncomfortable with taking your system apart

you can get a Dell with 500gb hd, 2.5ghz dual core and 4gb of ram here in america for around $500

Isnt hiring a pro extremely expansive? and what exactly does a pro do?
picks parts for you for you for the money you give him and then
assemble them? if thats the case i might go with this advise, i dont know
enough about computers.

not certain what brands are in your country, but I have 3 dell computers that have performed well and lasted for a long time

anything with 4gb of ram and a 2 + ghz dual core will run music programs just fine

Dell is a reliable PC source to purchase from. Just try to invest in the higher end models. Since they update their products on a really fast pace; once your purchased product goes slightly out of date, they stop making downloadable updates for it. You can easily google around and research your pc parts info for updates tho. My wife has been using the same dell pc for 5 years for hardcore pc gaming. Pretty stable till we can save up for a new one. Save your parts list that comes with your purchase.

built a beast of a system for $1,100. A good third of that was spent on soundproofing and quiet shit. My pc was silent, but I think maybe my cpu fan is starting to get noisy... for the first time I can hear it... sucks.

Anyway, I recommend building it yourself, but doing a good amount of research on it. I don't mean a couple of nights, I mean a couple of weeks. Buy quality components for good prices and really figure out how your ram cpu motherboard want to work together.

I did an intel quad core with asus mobo and corsair ram, in an antec quiet case, with a wd hd and now a seagate only cause it was cheaper... fuck who did he powersupply. Absolutely dead quiet power supply.

The intel provided cpu cooler was a joke though, noisy as hell and ran near cpu temp max with three big fans in the case. But in a ... thermalite cooler I think it was, my cores never really budge from 36 degrees. I could overclock this think like a mofo but I've never gotten around to it, because the system is stable and fast as hell. I've never had it anywhere near it's limits... oh wait, graphically it's challenged and that is starting to mean more and more as the appz are starting to get more and more graphically intensive, but it's all good.

Well i think im way to lazy to do that, that would mean i would have to read up alot on computers.
i think i'll try working out something with some computer genious.
would you say that its really really essential to keep you pc completely noise free?
i would ofc. want a low noise pc, but do you think its worth it completely silencing it?

What prebuild system would you recommend except dell?

Personally I'd head over to the Sound On Sound website and go through the forum and fine a motherboard and processor which people are having success with. I wouldn't go for the very very latest hardware, brand new stuff is highly over priced, look for a motherboard & processor which a few people are using with no problems (i.e. no dpc latency issues) and get that. I got a Core2 Quad quite a while back and still haven't come close to maxing it out so if you go for one of these i7 malarkys or whatever they're called you should be laughing. When I build mine I spent just over £500 with a TB of storage and a legit copy of XP so with your budget you could build an absolute beast.

Ill try that. nice to know my budget is healthy thought it would cost me alot more to get a decent machine.
