I recently bought, yes paid for music that has DRM protection therefore now I'm having problems playing this in ableton. What methods or programs do you guys use to get around this annoyance?

Those methods all suck and take time. No offence intended.

Must be a better way using ID3 tagging or some such wizardry.

I swear ableton didn't call all my files 'Corrupt or Protected' until recently...

And why not all of them ? Lord knows they all came from a similar source....

Doesn't take much more time than the length of the tune..? Convert it to wav like burning a CD would basically do, or record it playing is the easiest way. I've honestly never dealth with DRM before, but that's what I would do.

Yes, I could certainly use audacity (open source) to record the song real time but I was looking for a way to batch-process a bunch of files at once, that is, if there was a way.

Thx!

surely they take less time than spending hours trawling around the web looking for a 'quicker' way of doing it...?

For this I use a converter called Tunebite, keeps the original quality of the file, all the ID3 info, and removes DRM straight up. ;)

Oh and you can batch convert
