Joker...

I've just come back for seeing Joker for the 6th time since summer 2008, at Bigger Than Barry in Sheffield, and for the first time i'm very, very disappointed.

Every time i've seen joker in the past he's played new exciting tracks from the dubstep scene. This set was bizarre, it was at about 145bpm and he played a LOT of wobble tracks, more than i'd ever heard him play.
I'm not sure I'll go and see Joker again, he seems to have reduced himself to pleasing the masses. His set ended with a chase and status drum&bass track, and 'prodigy - outer space'. Well, it didn't end then, but thats when i left.

Please play what you want to play Joker, not what you think will please the crowd.

When he played at purefilth LA last week he fucking murdered it!!!!!!!

he played all of his own tracks...even newer tracks

the only "wobblers" i heard were rhythm by jakes, simple city by skream, and the prodigy track

i really think your being irrational

Out of Space is hardly a face-melting wobbler...

i played in leeds at bigger than barry where he was playing too,
he killed it, playing a lot of his own productions, a lot of exclusives,
and he also played this prodigy tunes!
but everyone has his own opinion :)

Yeah I heard the needle jumping (at first i just thought it was the moon-faced girl bouncing around on stage behind you). I chatted to you on your way out of the toilet, I thought maybe you had just got stuck in american jump-up mode :o
the sheffield boys and girls really love the mad man chav sets it seems.

Me and a mate were considering putting on a night at DQ, but if they set-up is that rubbish maybe we should reconsider the venue.

Cheers for posting and clearing things up anyway, I'll give you another chance next time you're in sheffield  :t:

Any other producer post what Joker posted I would have thought he was being sarcy. But that actually sounds like the type of thing Joker would do! haha

The skippy needles was due to people pushing on the barrier at the front, wobbling the tables, which was then being exagerated by the foam under the decks. As soon as the foam came out, they stopped skipping.
DQ/20hz both usually put on great events, so don't be put off just by this.

Caught Joker in mancs earlier this week, he absolutely smashed the place to bits.

Simple City, Crunked Up, 68 and Rhythm were pretty much the extent of wobble. Most of it was his own productions.

Who gives a fuck anyway? He's not exactly gonna drop Martyn is he?

To be fair, the guy posting this topic is way out of line. U come on here trynna damage joker's rep cos u didn't get what u thought u would? That's y this scene is spiralling downwards.. This guy can see joker 8 times and then post something like this, acting like a lil battered wife.negative vibes.

nah not really he paid to see joker, and kinda knows what hes expectin. obviousily he didnt kno about the problems joker had and wondered why he played a different set than expected. joker cleared it up its old news.

To be fair, the guy was well within his rights to post his considered opinions on the set he paid to see and the fact that the man himself stood up and explained what was going on showed alot of class - only negative vibes are coming from your end..
