I have recently got into producing dubstep and a problem I am having is that I have no dubstep samples to throw in my tracks and no mic to record my own. I need a lot of sounds and I cant find any free packs anywhere, please help. (they have to be fl compatible)

Or maybe I am just behind the times and dubstep has became forumlated and you need to use sounds like everyone else does?

try and be original plz. if u really need some samples tell me what u need from what songs up to like 5 and i can cut out some thing

I don't need to use them but it sure would help because I have no sounds atm. Plus no mic so I can't really record my own.

http://www.freesound.org & do a search on here in Production for "samples", you will find gigs. There's a thread many many pages long where people posted up sample packs.

ive got quite a few dubstep sample packs that came with magazines. still unopened in the sleeves

soon as i get a disk drive sorted ill upload them here, end of next week probably

Very important what people are saying here. A sample is a sample, no such thing as a 'insert music genre here' sample.

Go download yourself Audacity (it's free), then go through your music collection, and sample the bits you like. Sample packs are all well and good, but to attain a truly individual sound, you need to sample things that you like and are relevant to you, or unusual things that may not be so obvious (one of my favourite examples is Mistabishi's sampling of a football hitting a wall from a documentary and using it for real smack in his snares). Either that or you need to be some sort of synth wizard

Either way, it is by walking the less beaten path that breeds innovation. Don't pigeonhole yourself before you have even started!
