i agree...

its being done as we speak..

today i was driving home, and my cd player decided to eat the cd that was in there..

SO..i was forced to listen to the radio...

as im listening to the hip hop station down here.. after hearing that fucking Akon song about 7 times in the 20 minutes it took me to get home.. there are some tight newschool hip hop top 40 tunes that are BEGGING for someone to touch them...

i dunno... im a top 40 guy at heart... so i just got thinking about doing an aphrodite style urban junglist cd except.. doing urban dubstep. lol..

why not right? all in fun..

who doesnt want a franchize boys - lean wit it, rock wit it dubstep remix...

shit...lets make it a ring tone too!!

all for it, but those kinds of refixes lose their flavor after repeated plays. cool as a one off in the mix type thing imho.

Im defo feelin it, I have a Busta Rhymes refix Ive been tinkering with for a few weeks now when I have the time. Those that were at the Smog Soundclash heard me open with it. Ill post a link when i get it where I like it. Ive also got a few others I wanna work out, but honestly dubstep and hiphop are so close that with certain songs you can just mix it in, like I did with Luda's Georgia instrumental on my last mix. The Busta track is on it too... check it here - http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t ... highlight=

Im really feelin JSL's refix of that JT song, Im wishin I would have done it when I first heard it like I planned, but I didnt think anyone would like it. That refix is just dope though. And EMU's tracks, although not hip hop, are definatly some killer mashup stylee ish[/url]

I'm hard pressed to think of anything too sacred for a mashup...
some of the refixes I've heard lately are tops!
got a new mashup-themed mix in the works in fact- I'll be sure to post it up here upon completion.
