never too old to produce mate. there's peeps that are 12 making music and people that are 80 making music.

take fatboyslim for example, he's easy the same age as yourself and is killing it (although its mainly DJing he does now i believe).

age is nothing but a number.

you're old enough to know thats a silly question!

if your ears work and you know how to use a computer thats all that matters. Get on it!

Dadstep is presumably of parental age and made one of my favourite tunes, 'The Naughty Step' - check it out on his myspace.

A woman in my friend's Digital Media course is 55 and she does awesome electronica performance art craziness.

The idea that you'd ever get too old to contribute to any genre of music is a miserable fascism promoted by the pop music industry.

I feel your pain, I'm 34 and when I am out at events and parties I feel like the oldest guy there. But production wise no one will ever know nor should they care if the tunes are good.

I am 35 but have been making music since I was 16. It is an odd time to start up at that age but why not? I can't think of a reason.

honestly all of my favorate producers and musicians are pretty much all over 30, some are even 50 (Underworld anybody?!).

Its never to late to start. Think of it as experience. you'll have that edge on just about everybody, might be musical experience, but you might have influnences we dont have due to growing up in a different time period.

No youre not.

Im 36, and I know a guy who is 45 whos dj'ing and makin music, mostly electronica and dubstep. He's been doing his stuff since he was 17.
On the contrary, its so fun when someone half my age try to educate me about modern music, like basshunter, and I just play something like prodigy's voodo people and knock them out of their socks, and they've never even heard music like that before. I mean, its really cool to be old, LOL!

interesting question

bit like asking if your too old to learn the piano to learn to play football

u might be too old to become a pro footballer or concert pianist but if you want to do it for your own enjoyment then your never too old

(sir) Rodigan is still cutting dubplates and rocking reggae crowds around the world in his 70's....

Big up the Oldstep massive! :)

I'm 37 and survived punk/hardcore, metal, raving, hip-hop, junglism, indie, noise, etc.

Dubstep was the logical next step for me productionwise. Each age and experience group brings something new to the table.

The younguns have a fresh take, while us older types have the benefit of perspective more often. It's all good.

33 and at least 1/2 of the folks i know involved in music (in a productive capacity) are older than me. probably more like 3/4. skream and benga are exceptions to the rule.

now quit worryin' about everything and make some music!

Thought most people within dubstep are in their late 20s-40s anyways?

I asked myself the same question when approaching 30 (which I'm now) and the obvious answer is no.
On the contrary, in my opinion it's great that you're willing to.
