Ive properly started using cubase 4 today and im finding it so hard :o . Before this ive only ever used Fl and cubase just seems so different. I cant even seem to make a beat in cubase, so i was wondering. Are there any complete begginers guides for cubase for free that just show how to make a beat using just audio files, simple keyboard shortcuts and general basic stuff. Im really stuck here so anything would help.

cubase.net has a lot of info for beginners

and have you checked the cubase Q&A thread?

have you pressed F1 to read the manual?

Srsly ... look on youtube, read the manual. Shourtcuts you can assign by your self for example. As you used FLstudio you should have vst to start a drumbeat or just beginn with draging samples in the sequencer. You will need a bit patience to get used with cubase.

Just drag the drumsamples from the windows folder in the sequencer window. You can import them to via the menu or use the mediabay aswell. You can use the FL browser instead if you rewire Flstudio.
....before that you can create some audiotracks to have every sample on a single channel.

Once i have one drum sample laid out on an audio track, how would i then lay it out over the bar? Would i have to copy and paste it out or is there another option?
