Stereotypical Englishman

'Cause stereotypes are fun and cause aggro.

What is your idea of the stereotypical Englishman?

He'd have short back & sides haircut, a medium build with a small beer belly. He'd listen to soft rock/Indie and have a mild interest in one of the top four football teams. He'd be anti-drugs but wouldn't see the irony of also binge drinking every weekend. He'd holiday in Zante or Malaguf, strictly keeping to English culture/food when he was over there. He'd be centre-left but doesn't take an active interest in politics.

Reads the Mail; thinks johnny foreigner is taking our jobs (by our who does he mean British or white); goes to Benidorm and drinks John Smiths; watches mindless soaps and reality tv; raises his/her syllables at the end of sentences; says he/she hates the welsh cause their sheep shaggers and the scotts cause their scottish; drinks tea at four o'clock WHAT WHAT; wears a monocle; has a very polar opinion of marmite; prefers melinda messenger to jordan; but most importantly, IS IN EVERY WAY BETTER THEN AN AMERICAN.

What i gathered from American's point of view; we still live in the 19th century, drink tea, eat crumpets, we all own muskets, support manchester united and know the queen personally.

My stereotypical view; binge drinking, no self respect, love to project own insecurities onto others by labelling all americans stupid, takes national pride too far blurring the line between liking your country and fascist intolerance, opinions and views are formed by the evening news, thinks that everyone with darker skin colour has floated here last week on a piece of wood and that hindus muslims and sihks are the same thing and are all from pakistan. Celebrities are relevant and important news, scientific advancements and discoveries aren't. football is a source of national identity yet funnily enough the national team consists of celebrities rather than footballers. Loves to sit around on job seekers allowance and moan about foreigners taking jobs.

You're mixing up your clichés into one person.

The kind of person most who holidays in Zante most definitely wouldn't be anti-drugs and into soft rock.

Disagree, apart from the odd line of charlie the typical 'lad' definitely prefers 8 pints to some pure crystal. They'd probably rant about 'not 'avin any of tha' chemical shite' as well.

You've clearly never had the misfortune to go to Zante.
