Can someonle clue me into how one can change wobble lfo rate based on the note or pitch being used? Higher you go up notes, the faster the wobble? I use ableton/ reason and slowly learning massive...

keytracking

export a note with wobble on it and then put it in a sampler and play different notes.
or see if you can assign key position to lfo rate. you cant do that in all synths though.

You could also export to audio, then back into a sampler. then the higher you play, the faster the wobble.
But yeah keytracking is the way as the two above ^^^ said

you could automate the pitch and lfo rate at the same time or within Reason in a Combi route pitch and lfo rate to a rotary and automate that.

Ah putting a wobble into sampler makes sense! Also does anyone know if massive or any reason synth has keytracking?
Also cool tip about the combo routing, ill have to play with that...Do you set that up to pitch wheel? I can only ever get an octave higher with that it, but it seems like people like widdler and cookie monstah gets much wider pitch spread.
Thx guys!

I'm sure Thor has keytracking. What you are doing is assigning the note pitch to the LFO rate. Keytracking is mainly used on filter cutoff to brighten the sound as pitch increases. You can assign the keytracking (or note in, or whatever it is called in Thor) to the LFO rate in the mod matrix.
I'm not sure how useful this is as you will only be able to have one LFO rate at each pitch. I find using velocity for LFO rate much more flexible.

Hey zion how do you set up lfo rate based on velocity? Is it in mod matrix too? I will check when I get home!

Yup, all there in the mod matrix

1 octave up = twice as fast

but 2x the pitch
would be tricky
dont think you could specifically link it to the note your playing but you could use an envelope to control the pitch and link the pitch to the lfo speed that would sound random tho lol

keytracking to lfo speed or sync rate should be avail in most synths in the mod matrices

Yeah but the way he makes it sound I think hes still going for traditional note change too... in that case, this would be a pretty clean option, as long as the bounce-downs in key...
You can always layer up synths n then split children dude, n tune each one too liking... This has its up n downs, I like it because it alows you to completely change sounds n distortions key to key on the same piano... but with all that comes lfo rate
