My two cents is that a muscial genre can never "die" unless it's shit to begin with. I think a lot of people have watered it down by trying to produce and failing to produce original music (myself included to a certain extent), but just because we can't see the evoloution in the genre doesn't mean it won't happen. And how can you be passionate about something but then not anymore? Surely the passion never dies if you like something so much. I dunno, you could get "bored" of it I guess but I can never lose the passion for something. Cos I will always go back and explore it again if if it's for nostalgia.

And why join a forum just for the General Chat section? That's retarded, is that.

Id hate dubstep to just be a 'phase', as a music with stirs emotions in me I wouldnt want to move on fromit...

Do you not like it becasue of the type of dubstep that is being made today or do you not even still enjoy the type of dubstep you used to listen to???

Dubstep was my prefered genre 06-08 but my calling has always Been hip hop BLUD.

I use dsf JUST for SNH and possibly the mixes section every now and then, the rest is GASH

I don't listen to it anywhere near as much as I used to but I still like it when I come across something I haven't heard of before, there's some great mixes made by Ninjas here that may not be 'fresh' but are certainly good.

i still fucking love dubstep, lots of people are making really bland repetetive stuff but that doesnt mean it should be written off as a whole, there are still sick producers about putting out sick tunes whether it be filthy or deep or wobbly or glitchy or purple or whatever sorta sound it is, the reason i got into dubstep was its freedom for rules and conventions, its roughly 140bpm or thereabouts and has a shitload of sub-bass and that's it but its up to the producers to put out interesting, forward thinking stuff within those parameters and thats what led to the diversity of the sound, compare mala, joker, 2562, the widdler, 16-bit, kode9 etc... they're all making completely different tunes to each other but it's still all dubstep, it's not a really genre it's just a vibe, people need to remember that

i absoloutley love metal but that doesnt mean im going to like any song that has loud guitars and shouting, it needs to capture my attention through its intelligence, skill and uniqueness, i'd get bored of hearing the same verse/chorus/verse structure and 4 chords over and over again and so it needs to do something different and interesting. the same principle applies to dubstep, its not the style thats the problem it's how you use it

I know this has been asked a thousand times but what's the best earphones to get the sub-bass in DS? My £20 Wharfedales are great for video games and guitar but can't hack DS and the Apple in-ear ones aren't bad actually but I know they're not giving me everything.

Budget is <£60

Yeah, this is pretty much me too... since Wonky and Glitch-hop really started kicking off, I've listened to less and less pure "Dubstep", but I still check for it and occasionally hear some real gems.

But mainly I'm into music, not genres.
