can anyone please shed some light on how to automate the parametres on selected samples?

From experience in trying myself and what i've heard from others I don't think it's possible :/
If that's the truth then it's a real shame because you can get some great sounds from manually changing the parameters on the NN-XT, bit strange that they didn't allow you to do it, really.

i wasnt sure if it was possible to do or not

i guess, if not, the only way around it is multiple instances of the same sample with different values

Yeah that's what i did in one of my old tunes when i first started, had about 10 NNXT's lined up all for the same sound

haha, well unless someone comes up with a proper solution, i'll be doing the same, except from with a single XT of course lol

yea im pretty sure you cant do that

i think mutltiple nnxts is the only way, its the way i have always done it

doesnt have to be multiple NN-XT's, you can have the same sample over and over in a single unit, all with different root keys

true, but with the setup you have with mutliple samples already in there its easier to just duplicate it and adjust the attack on the new one

yea that was my point lol

See if you can pull the sample(s) into NN19 sampler, that mod env. is automation friendly.

:D

yea come to think of it, you can automate pretty much every control on every envelope on everything in reason EXCEPT the nn-xt

Can't you put the NN-XT in a combinator that has one of it's controllers assigned to the parameter? then you could automate the combinator. Not sure if that works.

I only use the nn-19

Whats so good about the bigger one? weird they dont let u automate like on the other tools

It because the controls on the remote part of the sampler can be set to different values for different samples or zones, not just one like the other devices do.

So if i had 2 samples, one i wanted to automate the cutoff, and the other i didnt, how would the device know what one to automate? im real shit at explaining things but you couldnt click one zone and the cutoff was automated with the green box and then when i click on the other zone the green box dissapeared.

There is a way round it if you need to mess with the filter, the top controls, the big ones are ready for automation, if you smack the cutoff all the way up, it kinda takes off any modulation to the cutoff that was there.

I never use nn19, for one reason, the nn-xt is there!

the nn-19 has its uses, clearly if you want to automate an envelope filter thats one

its also good for making a sort of granular synth, but thats still a pain in the ass to get right

you can also timestretch with it, but again, getting it right is not easy

So has anyone figured out to automate a parameter yet? Pretty bullshit if you ask me. If you save the sample and open it with the other nn player will your parameters change and will you get the same sound? Might wait a couple of weeks for reason 5 to come out

NN19 gets more outings from me than the NNXT tbh, they are both good samplers but for what I use them for the NN19 does the job more often than not ;)
