UVB-76 made me poo my pants a bit. It's a radio broadcast, which no one seems to be able to explain, or at least agree on.
It is an irritating, electronic noise, not unlike the sound of a truck horn played through a cheese grater. It is broadcast over a certain frequency, constantly, and has been since at least 1982. But the weird part isn't the tone, but what happens when it stops.

In its 20-something year run, the sound has been interrupted only three times, the earliest known time being Christmas Eve in 1997. Each time a voice comes on and lists several Russian names and numbers before returning to the foghorn. The most recent occurrence was 2006, a mere three years a mere three years before the time of this writing. It is clearly becoming more active after remaining quiet during the Cold War.

The case gets curiouser when you realize that the noise is apparently something held up to a live microphone rather than a recording or just some random feedback (distant conversations can be sometimes heard behind the sound, though they're difficult to decipher).

That is, someone is actively broadcasting and maintaining the signal.

Here's a clip of it:

the montauk project book talks about black military experiments using sound to control a town from the nearby military base, control as in they could alter levels of crime significantly and other weird things, cant remember havent read it for a while, but then its a load of bollocks anyway eh
im sure kode 9 talks about this in his book
its probably some sort of mind control
interesting that it says russian names though

Read about it yesterday. That UVB-76 thing is indeed really creepy, but it would surprise me if it's purpose was mind control.

Someone suggested, in the comments, that is could be like a dead man's switch.

As long as it's running, everything's ok, but as soon as it stops, shit's going down.

Thing is, it stopped a few times before.

I'd quite like to know more about UVB-76. Nice to see the man in my avatar make the list.

Hmmmm, good point. Maybe shit was going down, and it was averted? Or... I dunno, it just creeps me out.

Especially this one:

Edit: Maybe someone should try sending them through a spectrograph thingy, you know those programs that turn audio into pictures?
Might show summat.

Haha listening to UVB76 now. Live.
Not the best reception in Belgium but it's there.

EDIT: It's raining, if it was a nice summer night the reception would be perfect.

Interesting stuff, but still freaky.
I'm going to pretend I didn't read any of that :(
