just downloaded a demo of renoise and watched a couple youtube tutorials. i loaded a sample song and watching the different notes scroll down seems like it would be a weird and difficult way to program. are there any advantages to this vertical scrolling or this program (way of composing) compared to traditional horizontal arrangements? for any renoise users, was it hard adapting to programming this way?

actually trackers were around before traditional sequencers
it's not hard to get into just a different way of working and imo allows alot more control of automation

Renoise is the most direct way you are going to use samples to make music.

If you are making music that uses samples (ie, anything dance related), you are going to love it once you get into it.

total control on samples, and on each hit :
- offset
- pitch
- pan
- velocity
- reverse
- fx sending
- "delay"

It could be weird (vertical scrolling / keybord shortcut / compact interface) but I think it improves your workflow.
I produce with Renoise since 2 years (from Idm to Dubstep) and never go back

I have purchase my licence a couple weeks ago. Renoise is a great program with endles posibilities
and is a real straightforward, not to much "klimpi klumpi". Go to the website you can finde

i went from using reason to using renoise. now all i use is renoise. once you get used to it it's a great program. a lot of people talk about trackers being difficult to learn or something but i think that is just the general consensus as they differ so dramatically from your regular daw.

for me it wasn't any harder or easier than it was for me to get to grips with reason.

ableton offers all the flexibility i need with samples, but im curious to see how renoise compare and contrasts with it since ive never fucked with trackers before. seems like a cool piece of kit, even if i do have everything i need in live. gonna look into it some more.

RENOISE IS AWESOME. IM TYPING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE CAPSLOCK IS NOTE OFF IN RENOISE AND I JUST GOT DONE WORKING ON A TUNE.
