For me, my main genre was hip hop, i'm not talking about mainstream when I say hip hop, I mean people like Viro the Virus, Cymarshall Law, Cyne, Jhonny Polygon...ect.
What's yours?

Just DUB before that DnB/Jungle and before that everything else. Mostly anything dub from King Tubby to Hitones.
'Dubstep for me, is the most inspirational music out there. There is no need to curb my enthusiasm. Dubby do it for me! Hahhahaha.'

Hip-Hop from the 80's to the early 00's, lots of Roots and Dub, psych-rock, some punk, a few indie bands, Brazilian Music, Afrobeat...a few more things. Still listen to it all really.

IDM downtempo etc
Insturmental "post rock" or whatever you wanna call it.
plus stuff like The Locust, Daughters, HeavyHeavyLowLow, Headwound City, Conflict, A Global Threat, The Specials, Animal Collective, Four Tet, The Clash, Don Caballero, Benevento Russo Duo, used to like the Disco Biscuts before the switched drummers.
also Jazz and some classical
i was more interested in making my own music tho in general, was gonna do school for music production (ccny sonic arts), just made tons of loops on a Boss DD5 with a korg ms2000b and also had an electribe er1 for a while, always played guitar and drums. soon i will have tunes done i swear

I've always listened to Jamaican influenced music, dunno why. But I was really into ska (mostly first and second wave), reggae, dub, etc. and I went through a pretty big punk phase in highschool and then I heard this music that was dub but instead of some primitive bass guitar chugging out the line it was an uber low rumble of sound and I could just groove...
...now people mosh to it

Same here. I'll have some tunes to share soon too. I'm using Cubase Sx3 and Ableton 8. Custom PC, Usher Monitors, MOTU traveler, M-audio 61 (old one), Fender P-Bass, Fender Strat, Dejembe and lots of percussion toys. I'm no fan of music people might want to mosh too

I just need a Skank and a bassline.
