Well they say all the music in the world has already been written but it so alike to my ear that it can't be mere coincidence... Thom's interest in electronica and the left field coupled with Morgenstern?
Have you met her, have you, she's ace?
Slightly mad and fit too!

Went to a gig about 10 years ago at the Spitz when she was support to Goldfrapp and Tarwater.
Twas a really wierd gig as out of the 30 or so people there only me and two of me friends were regular punters and the rest were all A+R twunts. We got chatting to her after her set for a bit and she were really nice. Also a mate in Hamburg works on a music project for adults with learning diffs and Babs collaborates with them regularly on tracks and suchlike.http://www.myspace.com/17rec

Comes as no surprise really, parts of ''KID A'' were trying hard to rip off of Boards Of Canada's stuff (with spectacularly bad results I might add!)
And as I'm not a really an admirer of their brand of depressing whingy proto Coldplay doom rock, you could probably pick a whole load of musical 'steals' from the various albums.
I agree completely though.

I never got the Coldplay and Radiohead comparison, I could see the similarities between Muse's early stuff and Radiohead's early stuff but Coldplay and Radiohead are two totally different sounding bands, both in their approach to music, that is their sound / lyrics and experimentalist nature of Radiohead. Coldplay are about avant-garde as a tin of Birds' custard.
Or have I read your post completely wrong?

I'm not sure the bands are similar at all... though Coldplay do sound to me like they listened to OK Computer on repeat for their entire student years, totally failed to see the point and have since spent the best part of a decade trying to make something even half as good... but getting steadily further and further away.
Radiohead are very creative people... they don't always resonate with me, but I'm always interested in what they're doing. Coldplay just picked a style that will make morons think they're creative.
