Hi, was wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to remake the lead distorted synth in Ill by Chasing Shadows obv.
Have tried a million things with a reece but can't figure it out..
I'm using FL btw, but if you can just explain the theory, would be great!

your on the right track mate, keep fucking about. dont limit yourself to saw waves, sounds a bit massivey so check out some of the weird waveforms in there.

i remember hearing that they use rob papiens Blue a lot, i think they made the reece with that. Its got like 6 oscillators or something, and with a shtload of detune and unison, i recon you could come close!

As much as I love Chasing Shadows, they really need a new lead synth sound. Exact same sound on every tune

I know what you mean, but I presume they just wanna define their own sound, though I agree a little variation never goes amiss.

Lots of artist's rinse the same sounds though, if you discover a working formula then you will inevitably reprocess and reuse sounds that you've already made if it has already been received well by fans. Pretty logical to do this, as it makes an artist's tracks recognisable as their own.

Most prevalent producers in the scene recycle sounds, so yeah.. don't hate on Chasing Shadows cos their tracks murkalate you with frequencies on a good system

Not hating on them at all, love their tunes. Just wish they'd get a new patch
