Im slowly learning the difference because i too am interested in prejudicing more 2-steppy beats. I even have a male vocalist who i wanna test out on some songs. As far as i know 2-step and garage are more or less the same drum-wise. its got that early second snare quite often but as fat as bassline/4x4/whatever. sorry i couldnt listen to your song mate but im in class

Garage is like boom chk k ummmmmmm.
2 step is like chikakika tap.
Niche is like donk donk.
Bassline is like waaaauuurp waaaauuurp waurp warwarwrp.
And 4x4 is a form of garage rhythm but with a 4/4 kick underlining it. Although it is a bit donk and a bit waaaurp.
Ah I love Sheffield even though it's shit.

There's a niche club in Leeds and it's big in Manchester too....bassline is hit and miss tbh. There's some good remixes out there and Heartbroken is stilll a tune

lol this man I work with showed me a documentary about the UK scene. It was filmed in '07 and they were talking about it then, so possibly Heartbroken came out in '06. That tune still goes off?

It goes off yeah, but not as much as when it was first out and rarely now.

I love garage drums and bass, but the vocals shit me tbh. Just RnB crap, hate the vibe it makes. IT's really annoyting because on so many tracks it starts and I'm like "this is awesome!" but before long the wailing about how I shouldn't have let you go begins, and it's cry time
