Now, I guess have a look at the tracklistings for my radio shows, and you can see that im pretty much a massive fan of percussive, atmospheric dubstep. Echodub are a perfect example of my kind o' stuff...
But for some reason, ive just never really been feeling synkro. He comes up alot in the world of stuff I like to hear...but for some reason its just never really hit me! Seems to clean and a bit nondescript for me. I swear he seems right up my alley though...if anyones got any links or whatever to some interesting tunes from him I would love to hear! Need a bit of synkro evangelism I think.

IMHO if you don't like this song, you probably won't like much synkro
personally, i enjoy a little synkro in a set. some musical chin scratchers think his sound is too close to burial for them to enjoy it, but i think that synkro has his own sound. burials sound is too much for anyone to even come close to imitation in my books

Some people take it far beyond this, and seem to think Burial INVENTED 2step and/or tasteful vocal sampling. lol

That was beautiful, not really heard synkro before myself
is that piano bit sampled from somewhere or have I just heard this song before? sounds really familiar either way

Joe has a huge variety of stuff from harder-edged tracks like "Hornz" to ambient beat-less stuff. Not to mention his new drum and bass stuff with Hospital Recs.
I have a lot of respect for him, and his production. Talented guy.
That said, if you're not feeling him, then why try to convince yourself - you should live by your own tastes, not everyone else's.

As a DJ, his sets are pretty far away from burial as well. Saw him drop some tremendously heavy future garage with practically no mid-range last month that had people grooving like crazy and it was truly a highlight of this young year dance wise. Dunno if the emcee backing him up was local or UK or what but he really complemented the vibe too, which can be a tough balance to pull off.
Like DFRNT said, I actually would consider Synkro to be one of the most versitile producers in the game, and he certainly doesn't get credit for it. I've heard a lot of different styles out of him, all competent to say the very least. On top of that, some of his tracks are all time favorites of mine("Get Down", "Don't Know", "Attack", "Wonder Why"). Love me some Synkro

why is it that whenever someone makes a deep garage-influenced dubstep track, everyone says 'sounds like burial'...?
what if everyone dismissed every wobble tune ever as 'bah - sounds like rusko'...?
