ive been getting some really cool results on my basslines with the FL love filter , however im only using presets that come with FL and have noooo idea how to program this thing gonna try RTFM of course but before i dive into it i wanted to know if there are other superior vst's out there that essentially do the same thing as the FL love filter, but are easier to program, better results etc.... thanks in advance

Best way to appraoch, understand and eventually program these kind of things (with intent) is to break it into sections and understand individual functions. Understand how each band is manipulating the sound, how that then feeds into the next filter, or LFO, envelope, phaser, delay etc etc etc. Init patch is your friend.

Great thread idea! I have also used the presets on this one and messed about with the envelopes a bit, but still can't get my head around how it works properly... Same with the new Delay on FL, which has a similar sort of layout with the different steps or pages of envelopes - how do you control when these get put into play?

@ the OP, I think you should change the name of the thread to just "FL love filter" or something, so that it can more easily referrenced in the future. To add to the DSF library innit?

Ironically enough I was just messing about with some love filter presets on a bass line I'm working on and the same question came to my head as the above..

Honestly I first saw the love philter, long long ago. I still don't use it. That generation of IL's plugins have shit ui's. Just plain difficult and annoying to use. I'm sure people do amazing things with the love philter (and the delay) but I'll be phucked if I can ever get into using the bastards.

You can do some crazy stuff with love philter, I use it for all my wobbly shit. As far as I can tell its just a beefier version of the envelope editor in sytrus

It's really very simple to use and program, the interface is just kind of oddly layed out. It's a great filter though with some great features. I use it sometimes in other hosts as part of their Juice Pack which is their better plugins released as normal VSTs.

Start with one of the init patches or a very simple HP/LP and experiment from there. Each number like 1 2 3 4 up top represents a different filter, and on the left theres 2 knobs to turn the volume of the post filter up. On the bottom where you draw LFO and envelope shapes, you just have to click the tiny circle button on the bottom that says Enable (or similar) for it to work.

Does anyone who knows how to use these want to go into a bit of detail?
