i don't think there's any good reaasons why artists shouldn't produce under numerous aliases. especially if you are an established artist. having a different name allows creative freedom, without challenging listeners perception of your main 'sound'.

problem is it's very difficult to keep your alias underwraps. i'm all for mystery.speaking of which, i think magnetic man is a much bettter name than: 'benga & artwork or some gezzah called arthur'.

no, i'm wrong. i actually prefer the latter :)

not that you're necessarily right about that one! ;)

exactly.

(plus it also allows djs to do construct sets usin music seemingly by 10 different artists instead of the usual 5 )

i guess it helps with quality control too. People just listen to the music and judge it on its merits. Rather than listening to it thinking "this track is by coki/benga/skream/biggermanz therefore i should like it even if i don't as they're big".

lol, and there's that one about N-Type innit, but I'm not even going to go there :D

it's nothing new though. Grant Nelson, for example, had over 15 aliases.
As someone else said, it's a good way of getting people to judge you by your music, and not your reputation, if nothing else.
