Easy, I hardly ever post but am often lurking so may as well use this thread to say

Anyway, the other day I got invited into a group on facebook, so I clicked on the link, (was just some group about a quote from Gavin and Stacy so I didn't join, not important but just letting you know haha), anyway at the side of the page where it shows members of the group there was an account that had a photo of me as the profile picture (obviously not my account). At first I thought it was just facebook fucking up or something but I went on the profile and it turns out that some nutter is using a profile pretending to be me

There is 7 different photos of me on there all tagged as this person and he seems to use the profile fairly often, also says he has a girlfriend and stuff and I went on her profile and she looks about 14, so hopefully he didnt meet her over the internet and she thinks she is actually going out with my face haha. Too fucking weird.

Could be a joke, could be a pedo, who knows. Not really sure what to do though, have obviously added him and sent a few messages along the lines of, 'who the fuck are you? and why are you using photos of me on your facebook?' But yeah nothing back yet.

Report the profile to facebook...... should be a link on the profile to do it, at the bottom somewhere on the left I think......

Also, make sure your images and deets are only visible to friends (I think they are visible to friends of friends by default unless you choose otherwise).

If Facebook don't do anything about the profile, ask some friends to report it also, that way the complaint will be more valid i guess.

Some guy's pretending to be you so he can seduce pre-teens, innit.

Happened to me before, during the good ol' shit bebo days... Happened to a couple of my ex girlfriends too, quite flattering but at the same time V.worrying...

What I find funny is when some fake girl requests to be a friend and you recognise her from the internet whether it be porn or whatever, and you have 30 mutual friends, you view her wall and there's comments saying "wow, why have u added me? you're so hot... can't believe it" I don't feel sorry for the guys, I pity them for being so fuckin dumb...

Yeah I guess the best thing to do would be to report him, really want to find out who it is though. Unlikely I ever will I suppose and probably wouldn't achieve much anyway. Probably some mutant little mole man....

These aren't actually people pretending to be you, there are companies who take contracts from other companies to investigate people on Facebook. They make hundreds of these accounts so they can build up a network of friends and get past the privacy settings. Most people will just accept a friend even if they don't recognise them, so it works. I've seen ones which have stolen whole albums off people.. fucking unpleasant stuff.

Yeah I did think of this but he seems to do too much normal stuff for it to be a company, like putting up statuses, joining groups posting youtube links and talking to people..... could be doing this to trick people further more into thinking he's real.

Reported him now anyway so should be all good.

Just hope he dosent have any photos of me saved on his computer
