liquid dubstep....THE FUTURE

right.......i have been noticing for sometime that dubstep is branching out in the direction of liquid dub, when i say liquid dub i mean the mellow, mellodic side of things. myself, d1, mala, kromestar, silkie, benga, rusko are the ones to my knowledge pushing in that direction, personally thats the side of dubstep i feel and have chosen to make, i feel that the liquid side will bring more people into the scene therefore creating a wider audience, also i feel like it show's intellegence, coz right now i feel that the music has entered a wah wah wah wah woh woh wobbler phaze!!! i mean thats all good but there needs to be more colour to the scene, and i mean literal colour! coz i see colours when i hear music and i am sick of only seeing black and white when i'm in a rave!! i also feel it shows intellegence not taking away anything from producers on the darker side of things but its easier fiddling with the lfo's and the cut and res's than creating major 7th's or minor 11's so without babbling on anymore i just wanna get EVERYONES!! views on this new side of dubstep branded.....LIQUID DUB

def waitin for more vocal and melodic tunes!! like u mentioned guys like mala, d1, u r makin it happend.. but as i see its still just dubstep.. makin categorys like in dnb : tecstep, liquid, dark, drumfunk, neuro etc.. dont want it into dubstep.. cause all these SUB-categorys means that people dont even want to break boundaries... let's just keep it all dubstep
but lookin forward ur liquid beats !

There's bare top-notch producers pushing things other than the blancmange-step - they're just slightly under the radar right now (but not for long no doubt).

And Quest, you used the ultimate dirty word - intelligence.

don't use it again. It's evil.

please please people let's not use the words 'liquid' or 'intelligent', after what happened in d&b. it's all dubstep, right?

sounds good man...reminds me of all the antisocial stuff unsuprisingly! i love that style...dark stuff does destroy a rave a bit heavier though.
fuck it there both good!

No1's not re-naming the sound, we are just promoting a sick style ov the music dubstep!

Dubstep is 'liquid' anyway - doesn't need to be overtly defined as such.
Constantly morphing and changing innit, nothing new. Light and shade - too much of one or the other makes things stale.

melodic is dooope! good to snare people's soul with the niceness and then bring it home with a massive drop too. I have always loved that combination....
La la la lala roses sunshine snuggles BOOOOOOOOOM!!!

this is how it started, more ethnic sounding tribal sub business.
Im all for that defo, i personally prefer the more minimal dirty sub stuff but i think u need a little change up 2 keep the ravers happy and dancing.

u people are reading too deeply into things its all dubstep i didn't say it was anything else liquid is just a word to describe that side of things its not something ive come up with off the top of my head people in the industry have used that word, and why can't i use the word intelligent, i can make a grime tune in 2 minutes and i ain't lying but dubstep is different more thought is put into into therefore it is more intelligent, people have to stop being scared of change, things will go where they are gonna go anyway so who can stop it? if its meant to be its meant to be

I'm in a state where I don't want to start categorizing dubstep as this kind or that...if it sounds good....wicked....I don't want it turning into the jungle scene for me....personal opinion though.

Ditto...and that's coming from a journo!!!! LOL.
Those with a brain will be able to talk about tunes without falling into lazy catergorisation. I'm all for making a statment and defining your sound, but lets let the music do the talking...
One thing that has stayed in my mind was hearing Mala saying that he just makes music...other people have labeled it dubstep.
Which should be as far as it needs to go.
Still, Anti Social rocked FWD Friday, Your chest(s).

agree wit heny and quest, theres nothing wrong wit saying liquid!!!!
watch out for tunes coming on urban graffiti later this year, more musical beats soon come
and calling the more chilled stuff liquid/intelligent is way of description that every1 understands, due to dnb, and plus they can be more intelligent coz more musicality usually goes into it (not all the time but a fair bit of it). And to the point its all dubstep, then why do people call it breakstep if it has swing in the beat or if it isnt half step (not bein funny but its the truth in some circles)..... not that i care bout labelling diffent areas of dubstep as personally i play it all wit no restrictions to beat pattern but...
anyway nuff of the ramble, big up quest for a valid topic, ur time!!!!!
big it
