Listening to their discography at the moment. One of the best 90's band, hopefully they come play a London show later this year. Who thinks Justin & The Bug should collaborate again.

Godflesh were killing it in the 80's with selftitled and Streetcleaner too.

Justin & Bug is ALWAYS a good idea. That lowrider 12" of their's is deadly.

Lowrider 12"? Along with Swans I think they were the best heavy band in recent times. Nothing can compare to that squeal from the feedback and then the heavy riffing. Disappointed this thread hasn't got more replies :?

HAHAHAHAHA!!

It's Godflesh mate........not Nirvana or Skream so sadly most folk here will skip this thread.

I do however know there are quite a few here who are into Godflesh/jesu though.

If you haven't got Bug/JK Flesh's Low Rider 12" you NEED to pick it up........get on discogs pretty cheap....

It's a monster.

Quite like Godflesh, prefer it a bit heavier though, Swans is about right :z:

Swans early stuff was pure unadulterated nihilist brutality.

Hey Godflesh Fiend, been a while... Didn't we have another Godflesh Appreciation Thread though? Maybe I'm just optimistic...

Justin's a god. I've been a little 'eh' on the jesu releases as of late, but Greymachine was excellent. I've actually managed to score some of his DnB experiments, so I'm gonna have to check those out.

Kev's also a genius. I got really into God, his first band. Swans meets Albert Ayler. Fucking great stuff.

Swans reunion was announced in January. With the promise of new material and some tours. Godflesh are getting back together for hellfest. If these two tour together. I will pay so much to see this. Greymachine was good as well, better then Jesu's recent shit atleast.

Jesu's EP's are much better than the albums

Heart Ache and Conqueror are where it's at.

Ice's Bad Blood is brilliant too.

Techno Animal's Re-Entry OWNED.

jesu could be getting a lot more of a raw sound in the future by the sounds of Pale Sketcher.......Justin's basically taking the jesu electronics for Pale Sketcher project so jesu is just left with drums, bass and guitar. Personally I got excited when I heard that.

Half the Jesu releases are mean as. I have kind of drifted away from this kind of stuff, but have revisited since the new Scorn came out.

You may want to check this new one out mate.........

http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/produc ... 69326.html

Personnel: Guitars: Justin Broadrick Electronics/Bass: Submerged Electronics/Synths: Enduser Bass: Bill Laswell Vocals: Dr. Israel Live Drums: Balazs Pandi Live Drums: KJ Sawka Guitars/Electronics: M. Gregor Filip.

"A year long recording process involving guitar genius Justin Broadrick (Godflesh, Jesu), bass superpower Bill Laswell (Material, Praxis, Painkiller), electronic artists Submerged and Enduser, vocalist Dr. Israel, and others has culminated in the self titled debut of The Blood of Heroes. Taking its name from the Rutger Hauer film that followed Bladerunner, the group delivers on all ends from rock to dub to drum n bass to spacious sounds and fills in all corners in between. Industrial Dancehall, Metal Dubstep, Ambient Drum n Bass, the album is the crossover of crossovers – musicians creating where their heart takes them without regard for limitations.

Broadrick summons some of the absolute direst guitar dirges alongside the beauty that he now explores with his Jesu project. Enduser's glitch programming strides in territories previously undiscovered, and Submerged's blocky beat sound adds girth to the post-apocalyptic nightmare of The Blood of Heroes. Dr. Israel's vocals carry warlike dancehall vibes and add a narrative sense to the record, placing us firmly in post solar flare society. Live drumming appears on several tracks, provided by Seattle's KJ Sawka (Pendulum) and Budapest's Balazs Pandi (Merzbow, Venetian Snares). Additional sound design and guitars are provided by film sound editor and designer M. Gregor Filip, one of the original founders of Ohm Resistance. Peripheral support coming in the form of gear wizard Joel Hamilton (Studio G, Book of Knots, BlacRock) on the mix controls, and artwork from Playboy cartoonist Khoma, rounding out a listening experience worth far more than the price of admission."

Swans got better with time. The re-union is much welcome as well.
