today i burnt a grilled cheese sandwich while making a jump up track.. it was all black and gross!!

Space out, stand up and pace during a monitor back, light a cig, set themdown, and not know where the fuck you put them, lose your flow cause your stressed... IDK.. that happened 10 minutes ago, got on dsf cause I was bored

When I used to be in a band we were playing a gig and 2 guys came up and humped the singer from behind, one after the other, jumped around a bit then went back into the crowd


Never understood their motives - we were shit!

While peforming yesterday I switched off one of the decks in the heat of action. When I saw the red lights go out I almost shit myself, turned it back on as fast as I could, 45rpm and some lightning fast hand-wheeling saved the day but it was audible. Boy I never had that much adrenaline flowing in my veins. Live gigs always rock, something ALWAYS goes horribly wrong.

I few of my favorites...

2 in one show... First some idiot thought it would be good to grab the power cord on my Mc-303 to stop his stumbling ass from falling resulting in the the device going dead (broke the solder on the board for the AC adapter.) Had to scramble to keep the set going on other gear. Once we recovered the set and had a groove going again we had the building owner cut the power right as we dropped into a track. Nothing like an enthusiastic fist pump to a room full of stunned kids in silence as the roof lights were turned on.

Was lost in performance at an outdoor renegade one time and did not notice the car that pulled up until the cop turned the roof lights on. For a brief second I thought something was wrong with our lighting rig and then had the "oh shit" moment.

But the worse issue I ever had was having the performer that was on before me unplug my power multiple times while I was performing. Fastest way to clear out a room is to try and build up from silence 2-3 times in 20 minutes. My 1.5hour set got reduced to about 40 minutes and I said fuck it. Luckily the other room was jumping so I quietly tore down and then went and listened to the final act in the main room.

A girl, after constantly standing in front of my decks (and bumping them once) for over an hour requesting songs (that the Host directly told me not to play) she walked behind the booth and start flipping through my CD books. I went apesh*t. Felt raped for some reason. From invasion of personal space to professional disrespect. Sent me into a rage.

the bookshelf i bought from homebase just collapsed and my speakers fell on my midi controller. yay.

similar to leaving tea on the stove....i was hardboiling some eggs one night and walked away to listen to my tune while waiting for them to boil. after about an hour they exploded as loud as gun shots. scared the piss out of me

I was playing a gig one time using Ableton and midi controllers, and made sure I knew exactly where my PC was plugged into the power strip so that I could take it out without difficulty or fear of unplugging a turntable or something (everybody else was using Serato or Final Scratch).

So at the end of my set, the next guy is playing, and I go and unplug my PC. The turntable makes a sound like when you hit the start/stop button, and the record slows down. I plug it back in, and it starts up immediately. I followed the cable I pulled to see what it was connected to, and followed it back to...my PC. Still have no idea what the fuck happened, it must have been a short in the power strip or something, but even that doesn't really make sense.

Either way, I dodged a bullet, and now I'm so scared to unplug my shit that I always have the next guy playing do it for me, just so I don't feel responsible if it all goes to shit

haha any ableton users ever accidentally hit the spacebar while playing a set? tho im pretty sure there's a way to disable it for live use

Yeah I downloaded a program that disables the spacebar

goldies brother randomly walked up to the decks and rewind a tune without any notice on his birthday but he's excused he was extremely pissed.

and i've seen the bouncers thrown out of a club ... that was funny but thats long n i cant be arsed typing it all

my mates mirror dropped off the wall whilst djing smashed n went every where im surprised he didnt get cut the mirror was massive

recorded a live set and turned the minidisc off before saving the data <<< thats probably the most gutting b/c it was our stafford soundclash night

To be fair (and I'm only repeating what I read in an article) that pic was snapped in the middle of their set just after it got unplugged, and shortly after he realized and plugged it back in.

One time I was up late on a shroom trip and some drunk dude nearly slammed their car into my house. Saved by an electrical pole. Then they tried to get out, and back into another car, then back into the electrical pole, then back into the car, then once again, back into the pole. Then they gave up and cops came.

It was pretty sketch till I figured out what was going on... 4am... SCREEAAACCHHHH CRASHHHH BANNGGG CRASHHH BANNGGG SCREEECHHH CRASHHHH... silence...

He totaled 3 cars, including his own. Thankfully that pole was sturdy.

The crazyiest shit i've ever done while performing was, well basically my laptop crashed and i got bored of waiting for it to start up so i brought my horse on stage made it fuck me in the ass real hard and real good with its massive rock hard penis whilst everyone watched it was siiiiiiiiik
