1 - Genuine originality!
2 - Musicality
3 - Dance floor annihilation material
4 - Well thought out remixes! and this is an important one because so many producers rely on a well established hook or sample to carry their sub par effort along without contributing anything substantial to the track.
5 - Collaboration between people in dancehall and hip hop with the producers who actually come fi originate! not the producers who are all the hype but the one who actually kill sound dead.

I quite like some of the sounds that are coming out at the moment, so I can't really complain, but what I do want to see are tracks coming out QUICKER after they were finished - too many tracks these days are finished and played out by everyone for over a year before they are released, which means by the time us commoners get our hands on them they're old already .

A lot of people seem to be complaining that producers are just trying to make tunes filthier, which to an extent is true. What I do hear lacking in a lot of stuff these days is the simple principle of keeping your tune melodic. With your purple sound melodic beats would give people some ridiculous eargasm. Two most important things to me are melody and flow, just how all the different components of a song come together.

I can't stand it when I go out to a local dubstep night and the Djs are playing non stop midrange wobble for the entire set. What happened to building a set, creating tension working up to the tear out tracks?

Kode9 @ matter was the best set of the night, he flowed between genres and styles effortlessly, there was never a boring moment. In fact RINSE+FWD>> was awesome throughout.

Also more joker tracks please.

Diversity, less bitching, more promoting stuff you enjoy.

people in this thread want variety, perhaps try to push a few boundries with the sound people play. some real bass weighty future music shit yeah

however I doubt gigs everywhere are filled up with people from dubstep forum so I wouldn't be worried about the hate n all that, most of the gigs I go to are filled with jibends who go for the gash/chainsaw and nuthin else. remember my mate played a show over here in nz supporting silkie, droped anti war dub and some tool with a cellphone shows him a text saying "what is this? mid afternoon step?"

you're never gonna please everyone, some people will always find a way to hate.. so just play what you wanna play, push the sound(s) your into

you seem to be doing alright really... maybe you could do a retrospective mashup of styles you've already worked in ... some of the sample heavy rwness from jv anderson or snake eater plus the loose synthfunk of psychedelic highwy or early morning.
