-open fruity loops
-open any synth, 3osc will do the trick
-open the piano roll
-open that youtube link
-press the piano keys in fruity loops until u find the one key in an octave that sounds good when played continuously with the song in youtube
-this should be ur root key
(most probably the song is in a minor key so if u found C, chances are the song is in C minor)
-go there to verify the third and fifth of the chord are correct (ie sound good too)

i'm deffo no musical genius, but this method works for me

aww yea I love this shit - I remember that tune from Dubfire's Global Underground comp.
So! The melody is happening in thirds from the sounds of it...
Tune is not D minor, actually C minor. I have a decent ear, but I'm not a huge music theory buff...anyways here's the progression for you:
C + D# = c minor third. Played 5 times
D# + G = major third. Played 3 times ---- then down to D minor third (D + F) ------ then D# + G once more
then surely a perfect fifth --- G# + D#, played 5 times
A# + D = major third, played 3 times --- then back to the C minor third 2 times.
There are definitely other harmonics and variations and stuff. It's kind of a fun tune to analyze. This should get you started though. Hope this helps!
