Safe guys

Got a hardware problem to do with my mixer and my decks, I can constantly hear this buzzing noise coming through the speakers. It sounds like something isn't earthed but it dosn't need to be as im using pioneers.
I drew this quickly to help explain how i've got it setup

The reason why I am using my computer is that my speaker connecters are 3.5mm and I havn't got the right connecters to plug it straight into the mixer.

Troubleshoot it step by step. Does it buzz when you unplug the mixer and just have the computer connected to the amp/speakers? If not it's probably the mixer. If so, does it buzz when you disconnect the computer? If not it's probably your soundcard.

Could be cables too, but it's more likely to be some dodgy hardware, especially if you're dealing with 3.5mm stuff (indicating you've probably got a consumer-level soundcard).

by looking at your diagram it looks as though you are outputting your mixer into your computer and then outputting from your computer to the speakers......

That's the wrong signal flow.

You should be inputting your computer (and turntables/CDJ's) to the mixer, than outputting your mixer to the powered speakers/amp.

You are probably getting feedback because you are inputting and outputting through your comp.

Get the right connectors, and correct signal flow going and you should be set.

This sounds right.
If it still isn't fixed, try and make sure your power cables/audio cables are running separately, and that they cross at 90 degree angles whenever possible.
You could also be fucked if your house has shitty grounding. Still, fix that signal flow and you'll probably be gravy.

According to the OP he's running it into his computer because his speakers only have a minijack input and his mixer doesn't have a minijack output, not because he's using Serato/Traktor.

Assuming he can't afford better speakers, I'm not really sure why he doesn't just use a £3 minijack adapter - but whatever....

The unshielded wires could be causing it too, but I'm more into thinking it is because he's running the signal flow through his computer. That's not ideal, and in most cases will cause feedback.

A stupid question, but an obvious one..... are the speakers powered?

Shouldn't cause feedback unless something's set up very wrong, but if he's using a shitty soundcard it may well have a buzzy output or input. Unshielded wires very unlikely to be the cause considering the phono cables in 99% of the world's clubs are unshielded, but there could be a dodgy connector (easy enough to check by wiggling the plugs and seeing if any of them affect the buzzing).

Realistically the most likely culprits are gonna be:

- A Behringer mixer = not a very good mixer
- A soundcard with minijack ins and outs = probably not a very good soundcard
- Speakers with a minijack in = probably not very good speakers

= lots of kit that's likely to be a little bit dodgy.

They wouldn't be buzzing if they weren't

The PSU will be the culprit. Need to get them speakers coming out of the mixer for sure man.
