Im looking for some samples that sound like a native or tribal chant, just straight up vocals. I have no idea really where to look. Im also looking for good good voice smaples in general, just liek aaah or ooohs (I hear these sounds being sidechained and used as sweeps or w/e)
If anyone could help me out that would be great. and no I dont have a mic. I know, thats prolly my best option but anyother sources would be great. thanks!

Sacred Spirit. I got it just to sample from, which is probably illegal but fuck it. The "free" spirit natives that made it are out to open a new casino with the profit anyway.
It's not entirely just vocals and there is a lot of cheese but it's got it's good parts.

lol. true.
lol, not entirely, sampling languages you don't know helps get past meaning, and into pure(r) sound. imo, at least. Love to sample Japanese. Never have a clue what these guys are saying, just love the shape of the sounds.

I agree. I sometimes sample vocals in a foreign language when I know the meaning. but sampling foreign vocals blindly and focusing only on the sound can also lead to great results. it obviously depends on what sort of effect you are after/why you are using the vocals in the first place. at the end of the day the human voice is simply another sound. language is just a way to communicate information. sound can be used more abstractly to communicate information also. as musicians that is what most of us are trying to do anyway...

Look up "jubilant drinking song". It was sampled by enigma for their song return to innocence, and it's a really nice song. Another is "rorogwela" be beagu (that might be spelled wrong) which was sampled for deep forest's song sweet lullaby. Which, by the way is a really nice chill-out song. Also, you could look up some gregorian monk chants.
