The worst flop...

....what's the worst mistake you've made whilst playing out / on radio?

I haven't been playing on radio for long so I'm sure there's some shockers still to come. At the moment though I think mine has to be switching from line to phono (mistook it for the headphone dooda) mid mix resulting in the ads, which were still rolling on one of the cdjs, burst on. Tunes went well out, flopped the mix and then I was left standing there feeling rather embarrassed about whole situation..

lol yeah I've hit eject on the wrong CDJ before, I quite like it as far as mistakes go though, it has a certain humbling charm when people do it i think and you can have a little laugh with the crowd.

Stupidly placed the next record on top of the mixer, at the same time placing it onto the tone arm of the deck currently playing. Needle landed back down with a great thud and about a minute earlier than it previously was :(

Mixing the same record you just took played 3 songs back. Drunkenness.

I mate of mine let a tune spin out 2 times in a set. Alcohol is not your friend.

worst thing to do is sport the "i fucked up face". just roll thru with confidence as if that mega clang is a contemporary left field form of mixing that plebs simply dont know about.

On a trip to Prague a few years ago, a mate blagged me onto the decks in a pretty large club (no idea what it was called now) telling them i was some badass UK DJ, the guys there were playing tech-house and said yeah come up and mix a couple of tunes - I grabbed a random record, mixed it in perfectly... only to then temporarily forget my sense of left and right and take the needle off the tune I'd just mixed in, plunging the club into silence.

u shoulda started singing down the mic "who likes short shorts?!" amidst the silence. works every time.
